Direct Painting – Details

Now, we are going to add more details to our painting. As we remember, every new layer of paint, whether it is a glazing layer or standard brushstrokes, should be done on a well-dried surface. And now, we proceed with the details over a well-dried Color Underpainting.

The details we are going to work on have a pure decorative effect. First of all, we emphasize the eye shape with the Red-Yellow color mix. Please note that we use Stand Oil to add more transparent and viscous characteristics to the paint. Then, we proceed with irises, making them look more natural by placing a little dab of a reflective highlight.

We also make an extra layer of highlighted areas. On the dried surface, we can apply paint thinly. This adds extra volume to the painted surface.

We can use a clean soft brush for smoothing out all the visible brushstrokes. That is pretty much it. We have created an Underglazing for the following Glazing Layers.
