Working on Details of the Portrait
In some cases scumbling layers can act as the finishing touches to a painting. However, with our painting we will continue developing the artwork. The scumbling here is used as an intermediate step after under-painting. There is no need to wait until the scumbling layer is dry. This layer is very thin and will not interfere with the following layers of paint.
This method of portrait painting is based on constant improvement of the face shape and colors. It is quite important to achieve certain visual effects that would effectively transform an insipid depiction of the model into an emotionally fulfilled painting.
