Painting Varnishing

This painting was mostly created in glazing technique. That’s why the surface of the painting looks glanced. After the painting has dried for about 14 months, it is absolutely ready to be varnished.

We already know the process of varnishing. We place the canvas flat on the horizontal surface and coat the canvas with varnish in one direction. Then, we dry it against a wall overnight.

Painting Varnishing

The second varnish layer should be applied in a different direction.

This is how the painting looks before and after varnishing. The Varnish, that is, Satin Varnish, made the surface of the painting look less glanced but more matte and uniform.
