Painting by Laura Young
I am an amateur artist that constantly imagines new pictures. My passion for art (that has increased dramatically) since childhood leaves me frustrated because my skill as an artist is not on par with the images in my imagination.
The paintings in my mind are three dimensional, vividly colorful and striking with a bold sense of realism and my drawings pale in comparison.
What little art instruction I have received has left a void – classes were so full that instructors had little or no one-on-one time to give and simply sitting and drawing with no direction gave no confidence or improvement. I felt shuffled through with a fine art degree that focused more on art history than drawing.
I now find myself having to start anew; back to the basics hoping that with my view of the art in my mind and your direction I would be able to produce a quality of work that satisfies.
I love the art by Old Masters and really would like to win this oil painting course!
My art education would be complete with this new course.
