Artwork by Jeff Dewine
As a kid I spent a lot of time learning art and drawing. After high school, I shifted from Fine Art and would follow up with a 24 year Career in Music. As my projects found their completions, my artistic skills returned designing Album Art, Handbills, Show Posters, Backstage passes.
Four years ago my wife and I had a baby girl. My ArtBin from College came out and we began sharing Art with her.
Fast forward to the COVID-19 Pandemic. As the music business shut down, enter OIL PAINTING.
Once I found the Old Masters Academy Course online….I started taking notes. I was moved by Pieter Bruegel the Elders, “Christ & The Woman Taken in Adultery.”
My first Glazing/oil painting is a copy of this painting, on a wood panel, with an acrylic matte molding medium and some burnt umber, sienna, crimson and black paint. Unfortunately my entry is my underpainting done in black watercolor . I would not have been able to finish a traditional glazing technique as I began this painting a few weeks ago…. and I need to learn how. LOL
Art is essential to my life & my decisions funnel through a creative and artistically inspired mind.
My artistic challenges are developing my drawing skills again, particularly honing perspective and then developing a relationship with the oil medium while learning to paint.
The Old Masters Academy presents a thorough learning experience and I’m excited for the opportunity.
I hope to win the Old Masters Academy Course because I believe in the subject matter as a creative resource. It is possible with this course, I may begin to consider a career in Fine Art.
I would like to get votes because I have a non existent social media art footprint, and “we need your vote!!” 🙂 Thank you in Advance!
