My name is Joana and I love art since as long as I can remember.
I’m an art restorer, but I feel a great need to develop my potential in oil painting – which, by the way, is my favorite medium. I love my job, but as it is very technical, I often feel like I have something creative burning inside, striving to unlock: I have the need to make art myself.
Art is my life, in one way or the other. Whatever I’ll do in the future, I know it will be around it.
My passion in oil painting is introducing realistic elements in a meaningful way. I also strive to do my own compositions, making it unique. My mind is filled with a lot of painting ideas, but frequently I feel the lack of technique that would allow me to express them fully.
I need to learn the Old Masters’ techniques so I can go further in painting realistic subjects. I already have some technical notions due to my academic studies and conservation practices, but I need to learn some specific techniques of the masters. Furthermore, I need this push to feel able to apply my theoretical knowledge into effective painting practice.
After a lot of research regarding classical painters, traditional painting methods, materials and so on, I’ve finally found the Old Masters Academy. It’s definitely what I was looking for!
