I am a middle aged busy healthcare professional with little time left for my real passion which is drawing and watercolor. But the basics of drawing need to be mastered for the success of any painting. So the Old Masters Academy course would be ideal because you can go at your own rhythm whenever you have more spare time and improve.
I get immense joy when going from a blank page to seeing a drawing like a portrait or animal take life in front of me!
It feels like my right brain finally gets to get involved when I let go on a drawing and a real relaxation comes over me.
Watercolor on the other hand can be quite stressful and I cant stand to see my work failing. But drawing is different: any form of it can be done! You don’t need much material to start with: some paper and a pen. It truly is magical.
I am sometimes stuck on certain artistic endeavours and this course could help solve some of the problems that keep me from going the next step. But I sometimes have to put everything on hold because of life’s challenges also on my own health. So I can’t commit to taking a regular class.
I once entered a watercolor competition (the art of watercolor magazine) just for laughs and was happy not to be eliminated on the first round. So this gives me the feeling that I should still peruse a talent that I maybe have but has been left by the way side to for so long.
I feel much more connection with the art community than any other type of human gathering/occupation and absolutely love to scroll through different art work on Pinterest for instance. It is a respite from the busy crazy world we live in. It is vital like breathing!
