I am 79 years old, retired, and about 10 years into making my senior years productive with fine art.
After a fight with bladder cancer, earning a Bachelor degree in Geography and Anthropology, and a Masters degree in Urban and Environmental Planning and Policy. I worked in those fields for a time.
Upon retiring I started using the knowledge of my past to draw landscapes, cityscapes, seascapes, flowers, and portraits.
I also taught myself about the mediums of watercolor and acrylics and took some oil lessons. Afterwards, I studied with a professional artist.
Art now along with moderate exercise occupies about 80% of my time.
My artistic challenges are to accurately render paintings as beautiful as the Old Masters and to learn the techniques that they possessed.
I think that, from the description presented in the outline of this course, that the Old Masters Academy can help project me to that end.
I want to win to validate my decision and hope that people will understand my earnestness, evaluate my work and vote for me.
