Artwork by Marinella
Have you ever sat outdoors and gazed at the sun shining through a tree’s leaves and saw what appeared to be millions of colors reflected in the pond below? Everyone should have the opportunity to experience this moment.
I questioned if someone my age could master the methods required to paint such a stunning picture.
After the kids were raised and my tennis career was gone because to weak knees, I needed another outlet for my sole.
I started with watercolor and liked it! However, after several visits to the local museum, I “yearned to learn” how the Masters caught the color they so wonderfully created. I met a lovely acquaintance who happened to be an oil painter. She urged me to try it.
I enjoy painting, blending colors, not thinking about anything else while painting.
Improving my art is so important to me. I am 68 now and hope to improve, and get more knowledgeable about the ways of the Old Masters. How did they decide on the composition; why did they choose a certain color to be prominent in their painting? How did they meld their objects into the canvas and make them look so real and alive.
Thank you,
Marinella
