I would love to paint like the great masters

Hello! My name is Danielle Besnard. I’m a 19 year old girl and I love life, exploring the world, and all the art created through the centuries. Artists continue to capture every memorable moment, love story, and melancholic period, and I would love to be part of that method of recording. I find art history amazing and captivating and I would love to paint like the great masters.

Not only do I love it because of the meaning behind every art piece, but because it helps people be themselves, and have a voice, and that’s exactly what it does for me. I live and breath art, and love every moment of it. Without it, I don’t think I’d be the person I am today. I don’t think I’d be the curious, openly emotional, and hungry to learn person that I am. I wouldn’t appreciate the beauty in this world from the small things we encounter every day to the wonders only a select few might get lucky to marvel upon seeing.

When it comes to my own creations, I lack the compositional skills and the ability to take what I see in my mind and my ideas and out them onto canvas without struggling with where to start. Although I want to be a great painter, I lack the knowledge that I need and the understanding of how the chemistry of the layers and materials are suppose to be used. I also don’t completely understand how to glaze properly.

I would like to learn more about colour, composition, and how to use oil paints in the most effective way. I’m also fascinated by the old masters use of light. I’d really like to be able to use such a natural resource to create such bewitching works.

I truly find the Old Masters Academy really amazing, inspirational, and exciting. It makes me feel like all the information I need to learn in order to become the painter I want to be is right here at Old Masters Academy, where I will have the support and the guidance I need. Not only does it have the information I want to know but so much more important information that I didn’t even take into account, or realise existed.

I believe this course is best for me because I feel like I can truly love and appreciate the hard work that was put into offering such an amazing program for artist like myself. I think I can really learn a lot and use this program as a tool and a guide to become the best artist I can be, and possibly become the self employed artist I want to become.
