Artwork by Dejona Dino
Hello, my name is Dejona, and I am an Albanian artist. Art is one of my many passions, the most important one, and I practice it with great dedication and pleasure. I have been drawing since I was seven years old, and in February of last year, I started painting too. It has taken a huge part of my daily life and routine and perhaps, part of my spiritual side. Traditional figurative art has indeed given a nuance to my lifestyle, my experience and appreciation in school, at home and in many occasions where I engage with people. As an artist though, I face many challenges, some of which come from my own thoughts and doubts. However, I have learned to accept my progress and seek further improvement every time I create a new piece.
As a young artist, I prefer portraiture as a genre of art. I enjoy capturing the essence of a person’s character and emotions through it, although it can be slightly difficult sometimes. It would be delightful to have Old Masters Academy help me fill up all the blanks in my skills. Their teachings on the techniques of the Old Masters could enhance my ability to capture the likeness of a person and improve my painting skills. I am eager to learn and expand my knowledge of this genre and even more (I enjoy painting landscapes and anatomy as well), and I believe that this online Academy can provide me with the guidance and support that I need.
As an artist from Albania, I face unique challenges. In my country, art is not always appreciated as much as it should be. This lack of recognition can be demotivating at times. Therefore, I would be grateful to have people vote for me in this art competition. Winning such competitions would not only be a great motivation for me but also a testament to the value and importance of art in society. It would be a spark of hope for me to continue my art and see it as a part of my future career.
