I was born in Nakhichevan city, Azerbaijan in 1980. After graduating from high school and in parallel with the children’s art school (music branch), I went to Turkey to study politics and international relations. While being there, I took painting lessons for about four semesters and found my real purpose in life. Graduated from Bosphorus University, I returned to my childhood dream: painting in color.
I developed my pencil drawing skills gradually, then tested different mediums, acrylics, sanguine, pastels, etc. I was always afraid of oil color because, I didn’t know how to handle it: how to make it thin, how to clean brushes and such.
In 2013 I met a painter who advised me to start painting with oil, and quickly explained how it works. At first, I was a bit shy and ruined some brushes, but in time everything went well. I’m still learning how to paint, and know that the learning will never end.
For me art is whole, whether it be drawing, painting, playing a musical instrument, composing, sculpting, or writing. They all reside on the same principles of beauty. In that context, I may seem like a perfectionist, trying to learn as much as possible and as diverse as I can. Painting is the only thing that, when I dive into, I don’t feel how time passed, with totally focusing on, and often forgetting about all things, chores, and people around.
I think my drawing skills are not bad, however, I need to improve my painting skills as much as possible. I think making composition is a real challenge for me. So this is a great opportunity for me to find this beautiful site Old Masters Academy and learn the secrets of old masters.
I hope people who like my painting will vote for me, not for the sake of winning the course but as an appreciation of work.
