I try to paint and draw whenever I can
I work in the healthcare field that soaks up my time, but I love art and I try to paint and draw whenever I can.
Often, it’s a matter of priority and I just simply schedule the time to do it. Unfortunately, I have art ADD, so I tend to ping between different projects.
This year, I want to focus on developing watercolor techniques and also keep learning the art of the portrait.
I joined the Old Masters Academy a few weeks ago and I love the way they do the different modules.
And I also LOVE the fact that it’s a lifetime membership. It takes all the pressure off, so I don’t have to do everything right now and can thoroughly learn oil painting techniques.
I really like having the consistency that I find here from one module to the next.
I’m just starting portraiture and excited to see how things develop!

The portrait is impressive!
I love his expression. You inspire me.
An obvious talent.
Thank you for sharing your portrait with us. It is beautiful and one of those artworks one wants to just keep looking at. The values are so well done in the person and in the background.
I too have a schedule currently that doesn’t afford me to do the lessons regularly. I am in the drawing course and have managed to get through the first month only and not nearly all the hours recommended by Vladimir. Yet, it is quite obvious to me the benefit I have derived from the course. I am much more aware of and can incorporate into my drawings and sketches what I have learned so far. These courses are well worth it to anyone who wants to do good and great art! Thank you Dwight for your inspiring art work and thank you to the Drawing Academy for the lessons!
