My name is Anne. I am nineteen years old and visually impaired. A couple of weeks ago, I visited a museum in the Netherlands with a group of other visually impaired young adults. We got a guided tour by a guide who took us straight to a Rembrandt painting. There, with the help of scent (linseed oil), touch (brushes) and storytelling she explained to us an entire Rembrandt painting.
I have been visually impaired for my whole life and yet at such a moment I always realise the enormous role art plays in my life. As a child I was fascinated by the Old Masters. The colours intrigued me and the compositions touched me. Ever since I have strived to learn how they did it. I am nineteen years old now and I want to learn how to paint like the Old Masters more than ever. I took my first baby steps, but I have a very long road to go and I need guidance. The Old Masters Academy course is just what I need. The demo videos already taught me so much and I am very eager to learn more. I was so surprised and enthusiastic to find this course online. …
