I would like to impress people with my art

I live in Croatia where is very bad art education. In Croatia, there is only one academy of art and four art schools. I have been surrounded by art all my life and art made a lot of influence on me.

My dad has when he was younger painted some paintings and made some wooden sculptures what were in the time displayed in the school, my mother has been fascinated by photography.

My challenge is to paint or draw something that I like and stop painting paintings that would people with some knowledge of art call pure ugliness. I would love to learn the techniques of the old masters and how to properly use art materials.

I would also like to impress people with my art. …

I am Jorge Quiros, visual artist and self-taught painter, I am an art teacher and businessman trying to undertake, I am Brazilian and I live in São Paulo, I was born in 1989.

Art is my vocation, and what frees me from my own existential yearnings is, in a way, the engine of my existence; painting emancipates me and I always feel very good after painting, with a finished job, I feel that the time I spend with art is time spent for something truly important.

… He used a large amount of greys, blues and greens and a variety of flesh tones, often incorporating deep and luscious reds and gold in exuberance. He employed various undertones to create the illusion of depth, and define light and textures as realistically as possible. He used an abundance of colour, which he felt would dramatize his images, and applied the paint onto the canvas in thick layers in order to make the image more prominent. In order to accentuate the tones of his subjects in various lights, he used a wide range of flesh tones.
