No matter how I feel, I am able to translate it into my art

Hi there.

I am 34 years of age, and living in South Africa.
I have been and artist since the day I was born.
Molding clay, tracing and drawing my toys and always had a love for Color.

My Grandfather (RIP) was a Registered Namibian Artist (Gert Van Wyk) Always as a young child, I would sit on his lap, as he paints his next master piece in oils.
The stoke of his paint brush, always had me hypnotized.
How elegantly and gently he handled the piece that he was creating, and seeing the smile on his face when he finished.
He taught me so much. He was the man in my life that brought the best out of me, and helped me to realise how unique and special this talent is that we have as artist.
Only wish I could show him today how far I have come.

Art place a big role in my life, as I suffer from Bi-Polar, it brings such peace to my mind and helps me forget everything that brings me such sadness in life and helps me to express how I feel (Sad, Happy, exited, depressed) no matter how I feel, I am able to translate it into my art.
And always standing back, looking at what I created, helps me to understand myself even more, and for those who are near to my heart.
It truly takes us to a different dimension in life, a dimension where we can be ourselves, were we can express our selves and tell a story to the world.

I would say the hardest challenge for me as an artist would be, is to find my voice and my own unique style.
I have tried so many styles in life, but I have to keep on trying till I found something that I am comfortable with, and get my confidence to where it must be.

Art is a never ending learning curve, there are so may techniques, material and endless options and combinations.
How amazing must it be, to learn something new every time, and to fall in love with every new thing that you have created.
But I have to say, the one thing it would REALY like to learn, is very very fine detail, and to be positive and proud with my skill.

I am so glad that Old Master Academy is now part of this wonderful Course.
This is truly going to be an mesmerising and un-forgetful experience.
This is something I have always wanted to learn since I was I young child.

We always look at the wonderful art that was created by the Maters, how their work always stays in our Artistic mind and Eyes.
We can look at so many new art pieces that were created in our century, but the work that was created centuries ago, will always stay with us and always inspire us to be better. We want to create something that will have the same effect on young artist that are being born.
We want to carry on the legacy of true Art.

I have to say, regardless if I wont be a winner, I will enroll myself for this wonderful course, because I will not let go of this opportunity.

IT IS UP TO US TO MAKE OUR DREAMS COME TRUE !!

I am in the process where I am starting my business, (Art Studio and Art Gallery)

The Old Master Class will boost my confidence to teach our young Artist the skills they need to pursue their dreams in life.
To give them the confidence in life to create memorizing Art.
To give them piece of mind that they ARE Artists, no matter what people might say.
To give them a voice in this world.

I really want to create a program, working with young people (and Older) that are suffering from depression, Rape victims, autism and so on.
to help them forget and deal with what is going on their lives, and if they don’t want to forget, then I want to help them put their emotions on a canvas and tell a story to the world.
I want to help them understand they are special and they are all capable of anything in Life.

Color is Life !!

And how wonderful wont it be, to showcase their art in my Art Gallery. !!!!!
For all to see, and for all to experience how our young people can connect to our souls, just by the stoke of a Paint Brush.

Regardless if I win or not, this is my Dream, and my Dream will come true.
