Recently retiring from a career as a pharmacist, my lifelong dream has been to pursue a professional master artist career. I was juried into membership with the Oil Painters of America and I know that I have the ability but I have not been able to fill in the gaps of my learning.
After watching the demos for the Old Masters Academy, I am convinced this course will provide the elements I have been pursuing to become a more accomplished artist.
I am predominantly self-taught which is reflected in my paintings and I now know what I am lacking. As experienced by Natalie, I am frustrated with the techniques taught by the “Masters of today” who clearly don’t appreciate the fine intricacies of color theory as she described. I learned how little I know and how much I can gain in these seven demo videos than I have been able to amass in all the workshops and books I have read.
It’s one thing to have a head knowledge and know something but to understand how to apply and use what you have learned, what to do with it and how to use it is what the demos revealed I could gain if I were to have this lifetime membership!
I know that I have the ability to do much better work with more precision and accuracy but I need guidance. The Old Masters Academy will complement the style of painting that I love instead of learning to just throw strategically placed paint on a canvas for the viewer’s eye left to do most of the work from a distance.
I want my paintings to be beautiful no matter how close the viewer gets. I don’t want to just paint a pretty flat two dimensional image. I have something to artistically say in my paintings and the Old Masters Academy will give me the voice!
Please select me in this competition. Thanks for reading.
