I see myself as an old soul. I do what I can to get by, however most pursuits of financial gain (a job) leave me feeling unfulfilled. I have a few hobbies that I do enjoy such as wood working or training my dog. The only thing that truly ever feels right is when I’m behind an easel.
I was first inspired to paint from my Grandfather, though he would never see any of my work as it was only after he passed that I went searching for a deeper connection with him. He painted still life, animals, and had started doing portraiture right before he passed. I find that while my style is different from his that I want to paint similar subject matter. Being able to find and execute the subject is probably my largest struggle artistically. I want to be able to paint larger and more comprehensive paintings.
While my experience with Old Masters Academy is limited, though their classes seem inspired and very fruitful. It is because of this that I would like to learn the missing pieces of my work from the Academy as I believe that will be able to help me on my journey.
I would like your vote because it will make a difference in my life, one that will not only help bring personal happiness, but one that will help me provide wonderful art to the world.
