Learning and improving myself is never ending story

Artwork by Monika Mirella Bielinska

Hi! My name is Monika. I live in Poland, in small town near the Baltic sea. I love coffee, classical music, learn how to play classical guitar and absolutely love to crochet. Also I can sew so from time to time I sew new skirts for me and my Mama. …

… I would like to win the Old Masters Academy™ course because I want to teach in future. This is great opportunity to grow better painters in future. Maybe I could establish my own art school. …

I am passionate about painting

Artwork by Diana Licon

I have been painting for a number of years exploring a variety of mediums and styles. Art is healing for me through many instances in my life, including the drowning death of my only child. I do not have a child to leave behind, but can create artistic “children” that may last for hundreds of years.

I currently work in both oils and acrylic. I am exploring impasto techniques and have read that the old masters have explored and incorporated impasto in their work. I believe that Rembrandt, Titan and Rubens are a few who found value in this technique. I would like to learn more about this topic too. …

Becoming a Painter

Artwork by Janice Heligman

I have been an artist in some capacity or other for most of my 62 years. I have been creating since I was a small child.

Art is the biggest part of my life now that my children have grown and moved away.

I need to learn the proper way of layering paint so to create deeper, richer paintings. Your classes look so interesting to me and the students who post obviously have learned a great deal from them. I want to win the Old Masters Academy course so that I too may be a student who can post her paintings in a testament to your class. …

Real master

Artwork by Hans Mozer

… My home is my workshop. My living room is 30m2 also packed with paintings and my 4 studio easels. So i work at 6-8 paintings at the same time. 2 easels are handmade by me. In the summer i can work in my garden.

All i’m missing now is the technic to lift my work to a next level.

how-to-figurative painting in oils

Cutting Through the Canvas

Artwork by Linder Kaur

Me? I guess it’s about living life in the fullest way possible including the placement of Art in your life. I paint sporadically. Sometimes full of Passion turning out a dozen paintings.., and then sometimes abject disappointment with my projects that lie sitting on the shelf.

I think its due to lack of learning the basics why the drawings and paintings never match what goes on inside my head. I am battling through the Anatomy Master Class and have learned a lot. Takes a lot of repetition to train the brain. I have seen the difference the course has made with my figurative paintings. Now the people I paint look more lifelike, have movement and don’t look so arthritic. …
