how-to-paint-Old-Masters-techniques of the masters using modern materials

I loved the idea of being able to learn the “techniques of the masters using modern materials”

Artwork by Helen Wessels

… I studied Clinical Dietetics at a reputable Medical School, all the time hoping that “one day” I would be able to live the big dream: Creating masterpieces that can be shared with generations to come. …

… I stumbled upon the Old Masters’ Academy a few weeks ago. My heart raced! Could this be it? Could this be the guidance I was waiting for, could this be the open door? I loved the idea of being able to learn the “techniques of the masters using modern materials”. Also the idea that the course videos could be studied at one’s own pace, as well as the life-long access to the course materials. As a bonus, I could even be in contact with a real-life artist to guide me through!

I want to learn how to create masterpieces that can last forever, without fading, that could be enjoyed and inspire generations to come.

I express my Love for my family through painting

Artwork by Camilo Caceres

… Art is in my soul. I often yearn to have a Brush in hand, and to study more of it. I often express my Love for my family through painting.

My great challenge is to stay consistent to create, since I have plenty of responsibilities and financial needs. Regardless, I want to learn more about portrait and figure painting in the natural way, and I think Old Masters Academy can provide the source of inspiration, discipline, and education I need to keep pushing on. …

I want to make my living off my paintings

Artwork by David Miller

… I started an art degree in college, but later switched to Information Technology to cover the cost of living and raising a family. I’ve been working in IT Security for quite a while now, but my love has always been painting.

I fall asleep at night thinking about painting. After I finish painting for the evening, I’ll take a picture of my progress, and then I will lie in bed and critique my work for long periods of time. When my eyes won’t stay open any more, I close them and start thinking about how I might paint tomorrow, and I visualize the brush strokes and the colors. I reflect on what I did that really worked and what didn’t. I do this almost daily. I am happiest when I start painting and all the way through the process. …

Life at its best—painting!

Artwork by Rachel Marsh

The opportunity to be enrolled in the Old Masters Academy is to have a dream to come true. I have been “hanging out” at the Old Masters academy website loving every bit of information being shared and am hungry for more.

I recently joined a local art guild to meet other artists and I am aware that need to “fill in the gaps of my present hobbyist/seat of my pants training” with professional instruction. Recently I attempted the old Flemish painting style…and it I had been hard to find complete information regarding materials, techniques, steps….and different artists seem to give conflicting information. …

how-to-paint-Old-Masters- in the hope of becoming a true fine artist

… in the hope of becoming a true fine artist

Artwork by Aline Lotter

At the age of 78, I have been trying for 13 years now to hone my skills in the hope of becoming a true fine artist.

In the beginning I was still a practicing tax lawyer, trying to do both art and law, but art became so important to me that it crowded out all other pursuits – I had to retire from the law. I’ve been taking classes and workshops by the dozens. I’ve been having a great time. But, despite my talent and efforts, I have not been able to “break through” or reach that pinnacle of achievement where I can call myself, confidently, a Fine Artist. …

… Vote for me because I don’t have as much time as the others to get this done right!

a professional artist career

My lifelong dream has been to pursue a professional artist career

Artwork by Sherry Mason

Recently retiring from a career as a pharmacist, my lifelong dream has been to pursue a professional master artist career. I was juried into membership with the Oil Painters of America and I know that I have the ability but I have not been able to fill in the gaps of my learning.

After watching the demos for the Old Masters Academy, I am convinced this course will provide the elements I have been pursuing to become a more accomplished artist.

I am predominantly self-taught which is reflected in my paintings and I now know what I am lacking. As experienced by Natalie, I am frustrated with the techniques taught by the “Masters of today” who clearly don’t appreciate the fine intricacies of color theory as she described. I learned how little I know and how much I can gain in these seven demo videos than I have been able to amass in all the workshops and books I have read. …
