My name is Christina, and I am a 47-year-old businesswoman, mother, grandmother, wife and a lifelong lover of the arts!

Art has always been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. Anywhere from dancing, singing, acting to art collecting. However, my real passion is painting.

From an early age I was always trying to understand, recreate and dissect the old masters’ techniques and applications. I have no formal training, however, continue to study on my own and continue my search for the secrets of the masters. …

Bush Bliss

Artwork by Debs

My name is Debbie and I am in my early 60’s. I spent my working life as an aesthetician which I loved. I live on a wine farm in the Cape in South Africa. My husband and I have two adults sons and my treasured German Shepard rescue dog.

Although I have no formal art training I have over many years attended various short art modules at a local studio. Art is in my ‘sole’ and I feel a persistent desire to keep on trying. I feel vulnerable each time I begin a new piece. It is challenging and often stressful because I care! It is such a rush and fantastic sense of accomplishment and joy when the flow is right. Art is a passion that flows through my life and now I am retired I am so enjoying the freedom of diving deeper into my creative side! …

I am painting pet portraits for myself, family and friends

Artwork by Mary Connor

Much of my adult life was spent as President/Executive of a large Humane Society with a city contract for animal services. I worked daily with the tragic consequence of our nation’s pet over-population crisis, taking in over 20,000 lost and abandoned cats and dogs each year. In retirement, I started painting pet portraits for myself, family and friends. Eventually, others came to me. I found it an immensely satisfying balance to my previous life to now be surrounded by pets who are so cherished that people wanted portraits to hang with their other family members! …

I was literally halted in my art production efforts and I feel eager to get back into the seeing of producing and hopefully showing. They are now older, and at this point in my life, I feel I can see the light at the end f the tunnel of the intense part of parenting. I feel and think I am at this point in time, ready for something more.
