I am a retired Tradeswoman and Cancer Survivor still full of life and still observing the world through the eyes of an Artist.
Art is part of the everyday fabric of my life. I see it in the shadows, the trees, the leaves, the streams, the stormy skies and the everyday objects that we use daily.
My Artistic Challenge is to achieve a mastery of Composition, Portraiture, and to give my still lifes a more luminous quality. …
I live a life of hassle where my next day is always a miracle to me because I can’t be certain of what I might do due to the unexpected challenges that always await me but I try my best to maneuver and survive that day. I was 10 or so when I entered a drawing contest. I lost. I felt discouraged and did not draw again. Fast forward to my 20’s I fell ill. I was diagnosed as schizophrenic; but I discovered Michelangelo. Then Munch. Then Van Gogh. Then Chagall and also Picasso. Then Basquiat. It opened up a new world and I became an artist.
Art is most of what I do. There is always music on. If I watch tv I look for things to draw in charcoal. My room is my studio. I enjoy this because I can work at any time with ease. If I could go back I would have continued to draw. Art saved my life. …
