My heart pumps paint through my veins

Oil Paintings by Michael Thomas

I have been drawing seriously since I was three years old, and have been engrossed in art all my life.

I have had my drawings win awards and go on tour during my high school years in Canada. I started painting in my early twenties, and have continued to do so on and off for the past thirty years.

I have tried multiple styles, but find myself drawn to the style of the old masters and find it to be my most promising style and love. I know I have the talent, but find myself stuck at my current level, and want to break through to the finers aspects.

I beleive the Old Masters Academy can provide this. I have had no formal training and would love the opportunity to explore this avenue. …

I was a graphic designer until I found your painting tutorials

Oil Paintings by Phung Le

Over the last years, I have wanted to learn to oil paint. There are no classical oil painting instructors or courses where I live. For the most part, I’m a graphic designer
Until . . . I found your tutorials. I was enthralled straight away.

After participating in the Web Art Academy Course , I have made significant progress in color coordination, portraiture, which is my favorite. I love the classic oil paintings, the colors really attract. I am amazed at what I have painted, and it’s all down to you, your enthusiasm and clear instructions are what gave me the confidence, and got me going.

The whole experience at the Web Art Academ has very much been a transformative journey not only in terms of my art but also within myself.

I am so grateful for all the advice and encouragement I have received.I am pleased to say I have grown more confident in my work and how I express myself on canvas. …

For me, art is a vocation

Oil Paintings by Shana Smith

My name is Shana Smith and I’m an artist and teacher living in Chicago.

I’m a figurative artist specializing in sacred art in the Catholic tradition. For me, art is a vocation.
My hope it to reveal the beauty of my faith through work and invite others into the mystery.

I’m always trying to research sound painting methods in the tradition of the old masters as I feel that this will give more power and depth to my work. Also as an art educator in a Catholic high school I am always looking for ways to better connect my students to the heritage of the Church’s art through studio projects, which also drives me to learn more about old master techniques. …

Secret Treasure of the Ice Castle (and Old Master’s Academy)

Painting by Carol Holland

I’m semi-retired and need a second income.
Because I’ve always loved art, I’m hoping I can turn it into an income to live on.

I want to learn how to plan a painting, to take it from an accurate sketch to a luminous masterpiece, and I see they teach it here at Old Master’s Academy. I did not get this quality of knowledge in school or college and you can’t get consistent results from YouTube or anything on the internet that is of this caliber that I know of.

It is my desire to communicate and share in my paintings. I cannot do that if I produce bad art. No one will want to buy it. So please help me, vote for me to win the Old Master’s Academy Painting Course. This will begin the next stage in my life, and my livelihood for years to come. …

I want a career and the rewards of being an accomplished artist who is taken seriously

Painting by Dolores Angela Colombo Brittain

I have loved art since I could walk, and throughout the years it has always taken a back burner. Until now.

Of course some may say its too late at 56 to try and become a “master” but I believe that all things are mind over matter.

I constantly challenge myself, and also try to help others. Money has been a reward at times, but really the reward is more spiritual to me, to conquer my fears, and press in. I do a lot of work with elderly people to keep there brain muscle moving creatively, but I’m afraid it barely pays the gas and supplies.

I want a career and the rewards of being an accomplished artist who is taken seriously! …
