I love painting

Artwork by Gail Annette Martin

Have you ever sat outside and looked at the light shinning through the leafs on a tree and discovered, what seemed like thousands of colors, reflecting in the pond below. It is a moment everyone should experience.

I wondered if it was possible for someone, my age, to accomplish the techniques needed to paint this fabulous scene.

After all the kids were raised, my tennis was over, because of bad knees, I needed another outlet for my sole. …

… Improving my art is so important to me. I am 75 now and hope to improve, and get more knowledgeable about the ways of the Old Masters. How did they decide on the composition; why did they choose a certain color to be prominent in their painting? How did they meld their objects into the canvas and make them look so real and alive. I want to learn all of that , now! …

One day without paint on my brushes and fingers is a wasted day

Artwork by Rajagopalan Ravindran

I‘m known to all as Ravi, am 61 years old, and live in the region of Lower Saxony in Germany.

I‘m somewhat at the crossroads of my life, my wife had gifted me a „gift voucher“ to a local Art Course 4 years ago, ( Oct. 2014), since then my passion for Art has been stoked and kindled in me. In my normal daily life, I‘m dealing with figures „a number person“, hence, I‘m surprised at myself about my new found love for beautiful pictures, visions and the world of Art !

Art has become a very important part of my daily routine. One day without paint on my brushes and fingers is a wasted day. I love to see the development and progress in an oil painting, give it a few hours and watch the change and then proceed onwards.

My greatest challenge in art is to be able to see through, visualize, perceive and understand the techniques of the old masters and geniuses, like the great Michelangelo Buonarroti, Leonardo da Vinci and Dürer (my special buddies!). I want people to look at my art paintings or drawings and be able to comprehend immediately my intention of Artwork without lots of words or explanations … my goal in each of my art paintings is to try to Evoke Beautiful Divine Emotions and Inspirations … an Artwork Painting should be able to speak a million words … to the intimate eyes of the beholder viewers ! …

I fell in love with drawing people

Artwork by Adam Lessard

My name is Adam and I am 28 years old and currently living in Massachusetts. I have traveled the country and lived in multiple states exploring nature and people. Different forms of art have always been in my life in the forms of poetry, music etc. I have always loved the visual arts but never really pursued them seriously until a couple years ago.

I grew up in Connecticut and our family moved around quite frequently. I can remember in elementary school discovering the works of Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec. I loved his paintings so much that I chose to do a history presentation on him and tried to replicate one of his posters of the Moulin Rouge. However, after moving again I lost interest in art and was afraid I would be judged for enjoying it. …

Art is in my life

Artwork by Monique de Tezanos Pinto

I always wanted to learn painting, but as a young girl was not allowed by my father, married young and a dominant Latin American husband again stood in my way and I could not fulfil my desire.

I used to paint on my own and secretly, fearing been discovered. A couple of years ago, now widowed, and at last free, I took an online course with Old Masters Academy, it was like reaching heaven! And since then I am so happy and do not stop painting. I realize I have much to learn that is why I would like to win your course for it is so good, it got me on my way and I want to further yet so as to have a solo exhibition here in Buenos Aires and maybe even abroad. I love painting …

Art drives my life forward

Artwork by Gail Franklin

I’ve never had a chance to go to art school. But that didn’t stop the dream! I’ve always drawn since I can remember. Now I’m nearing retirement and the dream comes even more alive.

Why do I love oil painting? Why do I paint? I HAVE to. Art drives my life forward.

I want to learn more about painting, but not only technique …but to learn what to paint and what NOT to paint…that’s an artist. Old Masters Academy would be a dream come true. …
