Meeting your dreams

Artwork by Micsandra Vraci

I’m an self-thaught artist, I paint just because I like painting. I like any subject, but I’m most fascinated about landscape and simply the way light falls on objects. …

I like Old Masters Academy because it preserves what I think is the best knowledge in art. I think that, in order to create something that lasts for centuries, you need to learn the basics, you need to understand the laws and potential of what you can achieve.

My purpose is to know how to paint as the old masters

Artwork by Pau Ruiz

… I had a few years without painting and now I have retaken it. I am more mature and I am more convinced than ever to dedicate myself to what I do in the future, I do not want to stop painting and learning, my purpose is to know how to paint as the old masters did. Colors, tones, mixes, strokes, how did they do it? For me they did magic with painting. …

… In old masters academy I will have the opportunity to learn master techniques, which not everyone knows how to transmit them to you, seems to be a fairly complete course and from the comfort of the house, since not everyone can afford to travel to a good school of Art. …

My art is a bit like rolling a dice! I’m never sure just how things will turn out

Artwork by Tracey Koch

I’m a mature age art student currently studying art online. This is extremely challenging when you have no practical understanding of different techniques and methods. I have often looked at sample lectures from the Old Masters Academy, which I prefer instead of online tutorials that often contain misguided or incorrect information. …

I see myself as an artist but my art at this moment lacks mastery. I need to plug the holes in my knowledge, to develop reliable skills and techniques.

Re-Emerging Artist

Artwork by Patti Douglas

My passion was to attend Art College, but my parents wanted me to get my teaching credentials, which made sense at the time, which I did. I taught in California schools for 26 years and recently retired from public education. Now is the time to devote myself to my passion of drawing and painting. …

Old Masters Academy is where I can learn to paint and draw professionally with confidence. I want to win this course to feel confident with my artwork, knowing I will learn to improve my techniques and skills. …

Another chance…

Artwork by Kara Faust

I now have two children and have been an art teacher for the past ten years which I love because I have always seen myself as an artist. I gave up my own fine arts education to raise my children and have a stable future.

I would love to have the opportunity to still be classically trained that I feel like I missed out in and pass this on to my students. I am an art teacher who has always been passionate about art but desire more training and there isn’t an atelier near me.

In the footsteps of the old masters

Artwork by Vicente Morel

My first approach to art was through drawing, painting came later.
Drawing and painting, as a hobby and profession occupy all my moments.

how-to-paint-Old-Masters-techniques of the masters using modern materials

I loved the idea of being able to learn the “techniques of the masters using modern materials”

Artwork by Helen Wessels

I studied Clinical Dietetics at a reputable Medical School, all the time hoping that “one day” I would be able to live the big dream: Creating masterpieces that can be shared with generations to come.

… I stumbled upon the Old Masters’ Academy a few weeks ago. My heart raced! Could this be it? Could this be the guidance I was waiting for, could this be the open door? I loved the idea of being able to learn the “techniques of the masters using modern materials”. Also the idea that the course videos could be studied at one’s own pace, as well as the life-long access to the course materials. As a bonus, I could even be in contact with a real-life artist to guide me through!

I want to learn how to create masterpieces that can last forever, without fading, that could be enjoyed and inspire generations to come.

This is the first time I’m showing my art…

Artwork by Jay Karas

… I come from a small village in Poland. I was born and raised there and moved to states when I was 15. The only thing I knew was school and farm work for the first 15 years of my life. Not very exciting but at the same time I learned a lot about life and hard work at very young age.

I always loved to doddle, never thought of myself as an artist and I still don’t. Like they say: “We are our own worst critics”. I picked up a paint brush for the first time when I was about 30 and only been painting for 8 years. …

how-to-paint-I draw and paint for a living

I draw and paint for a living

Artwork by Adrian Puscas

I am a young artist that wishes to take part in the competition. I draw and paint for a living and want to learn more from the Old Masters Academy , the Drawing Academy was very helpful and I can Imagine how this one would be.

I mostly paint portraits, but cannot wait to try to paint still-lifes and landscapes. The most interesting thing in the Old Masters Academy painting I think is the amount of information: history, techniques, artworks, time spent on lessons that makes this course so great.

Art Addict

Artwork by Christiane Bouret

Art has been a part of my life since childhood. As a young teen I was given a gift of pastel chalk… then at 16 my father gave me his oil paints (he dabbled at it). I never have had formal training… did not learn about color wheel, warm/cool colors etc.. until I was mid 50’s when I began taking workshops.

I began with a landscape artist, but after a 5-6 years, I found a portrait artist and took workshop with her and watched u-tube and DVD’s I purchased ….But although my work has evolved over the last 15 years, I still feel my work is lacking what I am looking for…the WOW factor of a great painting. I cannot pin point exactly what I am doing wrong, but know it is wrong.
