how-to-paint-I am painting daily

I am painting daily

Artwork by C.P.Weyant

… Since then, Art takes its place at the center of my life and thinking. Every aspect of painting is a challenge—be it coloring, drawing, or perspective. I learned early on that these elements are essential tools of artistic thinkers if they wish their images to become universally understood and appreciated among viewers. The challenges and difficulties, however are what makes creative work the most frustrating and at the same time, the most rewarding vocation.

I would like to learn more about glazing and underpainting specifically, and from the brief videos I have seen, this course seems to be very helpful in teaching those techniques—especially underpainting and glazing figures in the classical style. …

The Untrained Artist!

Artwork by Desiree Morgan

From a young adult I have always found ways to express myself. I have had various careers searching and wanting to peruse my passions but I could never find it. Now, as I am finishing my bachelors degree in Art Education I felt like if I could have found out this is where my passion for art has lead me I would have hoped for much clearer directions! Art has given me so much hope in life that I would like to pressure different techniques and become a Master Artist one day like Nataile Richy! …

… People should vote for me because I am strong willed and I wont give up until I fully master my accomplishments and I wont give up that easy! If “God” gave me a Heart then I shall follow it easily.

… I decided that I was finally going to become a professional artist

Artwork by Rachel Levine

My name is Rachel Levine and I’m 28 years old, and living in Oakland CA. When I moved here 4 years ago, I decided that I was finally going to become a professional artist.
I have done art all my life, and it’s always had a very special meaning to me. Growing up, I would pause dvds I had and copy what was on the screen to the best of my ability, and do this every single day.

My household wasn’t peaceful either, so my favorite activity would be to draw made up characters with my sister, and create a whole unique world based out of our imagination. I could never stay focused in school, but what always held my attention was art. There are many things I’d like to work on with my art. Anatomy, color theory, maybe even still life. I just know I have a lot to learn. …

I return to fine art after my career in IT

Artwork by Anzka Davis

… I return to fine art after my career in IT. I am now dedicating my time to painting. I live on the farm where my husband runs Australian stock horse stud and our horses make great subjects for my paintings. Therefore, my favourite subjects are – traditional way of Australian country life and my beloved horses. I believe that artwork speaks from heart and that good artist thrives to express emotions that cannot be awakened in any other form of communication. I also believe that spectrum of colours, like harmony in music, is a gift that enables us to feel love and express ourselves. I would like to get proper education in old masters technique. The Old Masters Academy is the best online course and can provide this opportunity to me. …

To paint like the old masters was always my aim since childhood

Artwork by Harald Brumberg

I started to paint with oil colors when I was ten years old as an autodidact. I always liked the old masters like Rembrandt, Rubens and Dürer.

As a teenager I wanted to become a portrait-painter. After finishing school I went one year to Paris to study arts.
Quite often I was visiting the Louvre, fascinated by Mona Lisa.

Later I became an art therapist. Sketching and painting is something I do from time to time. I also like sketching caricatures.
Art is the ground of being free and to be a creator. To paint like the old masters was always my aim since childhood.
But I havn’t practise my skills very much. …

I desperately need Old Masters Academy

Artwork by Myra Christina Forrester

… I tried to teach myself the old masters techniques. I extensively researched the topic of old masters and the way it was being taught today. YouTube was my best friend for many years and there I found so many ideas and so many ways of painting that it was confusing until I found Old Masters Academy. I tried to teach myself and started at the Mona Lisa, my version.I found a lot of geometry on the Mona Lisa. I look at My Lisa still unfinished and I now know how much I have to learn. I desperately need Old Masters Academy. If I win I will undertake to try again with my new knowledge. …
